Mission

To give the human development professions — holistic guides, coaches, advisors, specialist practitioners, and solution partners — what every other profession already has: a way to turn craft into method, method into enterprise, and enterprise into a standard the public can trust.

Vision

A generation of practitioners and solution partners whose work outlives their own calendar — and a public that can find them by fit rather than by following.

co-founder

Deanna Brown, co-founder

Over 35 years and four distribution eras, Deanna Brown has built the businesses and platforms that carried working practitioners into public life — home and design out of mass-circulation magazines, chefs out of cable television, independent writers into legitimate media, and women athletes into cultural voice.

She founded X-Collective on the argument that the healing professions are the fifth of these crossings and the first in which a practitioner's presence can be separated from their time — and that, unlike every prior wave, no institution has yet claimed the position of building and governing the field. She leads talent, commercial strategy, media, and category positioning.

co-founder

Chris Powell, co-founder

Chris Powell is co-founder of X-Collective, where he leads Design Lab and contributes to Consumer Collective and Business in a Box strategy. A human-capital executive and entrepreneur, he has spent his career helping people and organizations build the capacity needed to navigate change and complexity. His experience spans serving as CHRO of Scripps Networks Interactive and founding Talmetrix, where he translated human and organizational insight into assessments, technology, advisory services, and practical development offerings.

At X-Collective, Chris works with practitioners and solution partners to shape their expertise, methods, ideas, and existing solutions into clear, usable products and experiences. He is also the architect of the Integrative Capacity framework, which provides the developmental foundation for the company's work and helps X-Collective advance offerings that are credible, coherent, and designed around the people they are intended to serve.

Categary

"Every fifteen or twenty years a group of working people crosses over into public life, and it always looks like luck until you have watched it happen four times. It is not luck. It is infrastructure arriving at the same moment as demand. Both have now arrived for healers, and nobody has built the thing that holds it.”
